ISO 14001 Certification

THICI Management and its employees believe that while the company is engaged in the manufacture and repair of merchant ships, environmental protection can similarly be achieved as well as the protection of human health, thereby creating and supporting a climate conducive to sustainable development.

Environmental Management System is a set of management tools, principles and procedures that an organization can use to help protect human health and the environment from the potential impacts of the organization's activities, products and services.

To demonstrate its sincerity, THICI Management showed its commitment to comply and conform its established Environmental Management System (EMS) to the standards and be certified with ISO 14001. The company and its staff pour much effort for the establishment of an EMS to ensure that the environment will not be harmed and will be taken cared of with its on-going ship building and ship repair operations.

On November 21, 2003 the Environmental Management System of THICI was certified and registered by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NK) complying to ISO 14001:1996 standards. THICI then is the first shipyard in the Philippines to be certified with ISO 14001.
